Happy Father's Day

Father’s Day is a beautiful celebration that acknowledges and appreciates the important role played by a father in raising a child and consequently building a stronger society. It started in the early 20th century to complement Mother's Day.
Father’s Day is celebrated the world over. It is said to have originated in America. The first Father’s Day was celebrated on 19th June 1910 in Spokane, Washington, USA. The idea of celebrating Father’s Day came from Mrs. Sonora Smart Dodd who thought of the idea while listening to a Mother’s Day sermon in 1909. Her father, William Jackson Smart, whom she loved dearly, had brought up six children on his own and she wanted him to know how much he meant to her. As her father was born in the month of June she decided that it was the best time to celebrate father’s day.
To all the Great Dads at TOYSHARE, we wish you a very Happy Father’s Day!

  1. As part of Fathers day celebrations, at home my son and I baked banana chocolate bread and had a small cake cutting party. It was delicious. When we both went out to get some stuff, my son insisted on getting a special balloon for dad. After the small party father and son went out to watch a movie at the theatre.
